Emery is back in the hospital. they took him to Pendleton's naval hospital yesterday, then were transferred to Balboa Naval hospital in San Diego. As of about 30 min ago 6:30pm our time they still do not know what is wrong. They have been waiting for the doctor all day.

Fish Story!!

Hi Everyone! I just wanted to share my fish story! I went to my sister's boyfriend's cabin this weekend and all we did was fish and have cocktails... but when we were fishing for Sunnies on Sunday I caught the most beautiful Walleye ever. It was 27" long and weight just over 6#. I shared some with my brother-in-law Seth and put the rest in my freezer for me and Thayne. I told Karla's boyfriend that I got the big buck last year, the big walleye this summer and then asked what was coming up next???? Maybe pheasant or duck? Check out the pic-if you can tell I got rather sunburned on the face (ouch). But it was so worth it!!!

Also, Loretta, Chris or Liz-Karla gave me a brand new pressure cooker she got at a garage sale-only paid $10. It even had the instruction book in the pot.... anyway-I'm going to need some coaching with regard to use and easy meals for me and Tessa that I could try.

Greetings! I'm sorry I've been missing so many Thursday's, between having an iffy vehicle and having stuff come up on Thursday's it's been a no go. I was planning to get back this week and found out my friend from MO (who missed Lilies because she had a job interview) is arriving Thursday with her guy on their way to the Boundary Waters. I will be missing another week. Poo.

I did want you to see the cloak that I just finished for my friend Halvdan, who was knighted at Lilies on the 16th.

It's grey wool, with a border of deep purple wool, woven trim (that I wove myself), embroidered runes, and a gold linen chain edged with red chain stitch. I'm really happy with how it turned out and Halvdan loved it, especially when I told him what the runes meant.

It's official, I am registered! I only took one class cause I really could not see spending $150 for one of the 6 hour classes if the only reason I wanted to do it was to rub elbows with the instructor. I spent $25 for the reception Thursday night instead. Much better. My one class is on darning and I will bring Grandma's wooden darning egg. Katherine will be booking my flight and I will probably be flying out Thursday and back Sunday.

So I thought this Spring I would be working less and have more time for knitting, but alas I am meeting another deadline and a little freaked and crabby, so probably better that I am not stopping by.

I am however going to be at the Shepherd's Harvest festival on Saturday morning. Hope to see a few of you there! Also, I am hoping we don't get rained on. Last year was pretty muddy.

I have set the date for our Pure Romance party. It will be on Saturday, April 2nd, at my house in North Hudson. Plan to arrive between 4 and 4:30 pm. Our consultant, Colleen, will begin her demo at 5. I'll be providing plenty of appetizers and non-alcoholic drinks, but feel free to add to them if you want.

If you have any friends who would be interested in joining us, please invite them! The more, the merrier. I'll be putting together a final headcount the week before so I can be sure to have enough food.

Hi Everyone, Chris, Loretta and I met up at Sushi Tango last night before knitting group and I had a great time. I am hear by extending an invitation... Mark your calendars...

Thur April 14, 5pm meet at Akita's in Woodbury. It's on 494 and Tamerack. Loretta and I have been there before and service was good and food was great. The all you can eat sushi is $25, which can be cheaper than ordering off the Sushi Tango happy hour menu (I spent $23 before the tip so an extra couple bucks could have gotten me a better selection and better Shrimp Tempera). So there it is. If you're in the mood and have a couple hours to spend chatting with the girls in a different setting then Caribou-meet us there...

There are about a billion resources for people who are interested in running, but I thought I would share some of the ones I used. Best thing, a lot of them are free.

Cool running Couch to 5K running plan
This has a printable schedule that shows you what to expect each week. You can repeat the weeks as much as you want before moving on.

Cool Running is a great website in and of itself and has a load of information for people who are new to running.

Podcasts for the 9 week plan

When you are ready to find a local race you can refer to Active.com or The Minnesota Distance Running Association Race schedule. (MDRA)

My biggest advice to anyone who is interested in running is to invest in a pair of good running shoes. It made a huge difference for me. You can go to the big box stores like Dicks, Sports Authority, etc, but you will be better off going to a specialty shop and getting some personal attention from a qualified salesperson.

Run N Fun is an excellent place. Gear Running Store in Edina. The Running Room is located on Grand and Lexington. It's a Canadian company, but there are 2 locations in the Twin Cities, the other location says it's in Woodbury, in the same complex as Chipotle and the Bead store, but I can't be sure it's still there anymore.

I you are in need of beads this has amazing prices, the only thing is that they are in China, the take about 6 days to process the order and then is you wan the cheapest shipping it will take about 30 day to get. The 3 day shipping is still only about $22 which is still going to be cheaper then getting the beads closer to home from what I found. Most place are between 5- 10 for about 1/8 of the amount. I will be placing my order in a day or two so i will let everyone know how it works out.

FYI-Loretta and I will be MIA this Thursday. We have another Sushi date but this time with Jen and Karen.

Also, I'll probably be MIA on 2/3. I bought a NOOK and love it-but my niece is having issues. She bought a color nook and is lost. There is a Nook class at the Barnes & Noble in Maplewood on the first Thur of every month. I told Tracy I'd pick her up and take her. Right now she's got a $300 toy that has only 2 kids books on it.

Hello ladies!! Hope all of you doing well. I do apologize for being MIA big time:( I lost my job unexpected on April of 2010 after being there for almost 8 years:( It was a big blow for a while. I usually go to knitting right after work but now I live one hour away from woodbury which is kinda challenging for me to drive right now. As you heard I am 8 month pregnant with a baby girl and she will be due on February 10th, 2011. My husband and I are very excited!! We have been busy remodeling upstairs and getting stuff done before the baby come. I know I said I will try visit before but time got so busy at this point. I will keep you update about the baby and hopefully down the road we can visit when I fully recover. Hope all is well and I will keep you posted:):)

For those that where at knitting last Thursday. I did not get the job. I look at this as a sign that I have more to learn at my current job and will continue to work hard and learn what I can. I do have a positive attitude about this.

I will not be at knitting for the next couple of weeks I am scheduled to work until close. I have a feeling I will be closing on thursday through Jan.

I may be MIA on thursday. Lisa and Ryan had the baby today. They ended up taking the baby C-section. Caleb Felton Williams was born at 1520 weighing 8# and 20.5 inches long. Mom and baby are doing good-but Grandpa W suggested we give Lisa a full day before we visit so she had time to recover. She worked very hard before they decided to take the baby.

A book I've been waiting a year for released today and I'm picking it up on Thursday, so I may get too wrapped up in it to notice that it's time for knitting group. Also, my mom will be in town next week and I may skip knitting to hang with her. good morning! I have to share a stupid news anchore story-I'm watching the morning news just before 5am and the story was about a bald eagle that was rescued by a farmer in OK. Nice heart warming story about the American symbol, majestic bird and so on ... At the end of the story the stupid lady says that the bird was being nursed back to life by vets. SERIOUSLY!!! I know I was just waking up and had not yet had my minimum 2 cups of java but I had to say .... HUH??? Did she just saywhat I thought she said??? Can someone please exdplain to me how you can be nursed back to life? I'd like to know because I had a couple of very well loved pets that could have used a tad bit of help on that score.

Okay now that I've left you wish some deep contemplation -I need to go to work and do the responsible thing. Wish us luck tomorrow. Tessa has the State Tournement for Special Olympics Basketball. See you all next week.

hi there-long story short-my little truck choked to the tune of $1300-then I factored in the other general repairs that were needed and it was decided to say farewell to an old and trusted friend. yep-i ditched the sucker! Do you know how much crap you can hide in a little truck over an 8 year time frame? It took me 20 minutes and 2 boxes to get everything. I swear every nook and crany had paper or somthing crammed in it. My new ride is a bit more than I intended to buy but it is so sweet. I have an SUV-my brother-in-law says I'm now a soccor mom. UGH!! I'll try to add a pic to the post but not sure if I'm up to the technical challenge. ha ha ha. gotta run off to work. I'll see you all in a couple of weeks. hugs to all!

I was waiting for the deposit to credit my account, which happened today, so I placed the order this afternoon. Chris, sometime this weekend the Fair Isle knitting book must have sold out because it now says it won't be available until next week. Sorry :( I'll write you a check at knitting this week for it.

I usually get my order from them 7-9 days after placing it, so I should be bringing it to knitting on the 28th.

hi everyone-I just found out that my nephew and his wife are expecting their first baby. Baby is due in August. I'd like to get started on some baby things. hi everyone!!! i'm on line and able to post notes to the blog-thank you, Liz... I'm now someone. ha ha ha. I'll see everyone on Thursday night. Oh... and if anyone wants to know-I still haven't felted my slippers. I've started my second pair but my two sisters saw what the finished product will turn out to be and now I have requests for 2 more pair... At least it was a request and not a demand. Gotta run and soak in a hot shower-this snow remove thing is hard on the body. ugh I'm feeling old! I think it's time to invest in some hair color. LOL!!!

I'm so excited to have all of you over to my house for Thursday Night Knitting! I will have appetizers, hot chocolate, and other treats for us to nibble on while we chat and knit. Feel free to come over anytime after 6:30 and I promise that I will not turn into a pumpkin until at least 10.

Feel free to Google map my address but just a warning the intersection of Manning and 60th is a dangerous one so if possible follow the following direction to be on the safe side.

I live at 12981 60th St. S. in Afton, from Highway 94 take Manning Ave S. 4 miles to 40th St (it is a four way stop) and take a left. Go 1 mile and take a right on Neal Ave. Go 2 miles and take a right on 60th St. Our house is the first one on the left.

Chris will be with me toworrow because he's decided the bottle is just not his thing anymore and I don't want to miss most of knitting by waiting until after his bedtime feeding to leave the house. Hopefully this week will not be one of the random weeks that Auntie Karen doesn't come. :)

The beads I need for the Aolian were found at the other location and they are bringing 5 tubes to the Woodbury location. Yay!!!!! We'll see how working the new chart goes at knitting this week. Should be interesting.

Bringing the baby

Trinity hurt his shoulder at work yesterday and can't lift more than five pounds for a week, so I'll be bringing Chris to knitting tomorrow. We won't be staying long, but whoever wants to hold and cuddle him *cough*Karen*cough* can do so for about an hour. :)

We just pick Kevin up from the airport and we are having his parents over for dinner tonight to get to know them. So i will not be able to get there.

I want to find out how every one did on the judging. On the shawl I got a 93 and on the top and skirt I got a 95 1/2. How did you do.

Surgery went well

Sorry I didn't post this sooner, but my surgery on Wednesday went perfectly. Coming out of the anaesthesia was fine, too, I was just groggy and out of it for a bit. And very hungry. Thankfully, my stomach was agreeable to whatever I put in it.

I'm still pretty sore, but the pain has lessened to the point where I switched from Vicoden to Motrin this morning. I'm enjoying taking it easy while my mom and Trin take care of the kiddos and I'm making good progress on Blu, which I started yesterday. I should feel fine by next week, so I'll see you all then.

I won't be there tonight. Husband and I are going to Serenity at the Riverview theater.
